So, I grew up an only child and never really had to worry about sharing a bathroom. Not much has changed since My Little Red Haired Girl and I married, as we shower at different times of day in most instances. Heck, I never even had any real shower trouble in college where we had large, shared bathrooms. The gym is a different story.

So, I rolled in at my usual 5:30ish and hit the cardio for my half hour kick start. Things were looking up as my only shower competitor made his way out of the gym before 6. Thank goodness, I’m in the clear! Well, at around 6:20, one of the ‘irregulars’ decided to shower in. No biggie, I’m doing weights by this point and won’t be done for another 10-15 minutes. Well, I finish up and the dude is still in the john. So I tell myself, ‘no big deal, just take your time stretching.’ I finish stretching and walk over to the john only to find the dude is still in there. It is at this point that my patience is running thin. I’m usually in the shower by 6:35 and on the road by 6:50. It is now 6:45 and the guy appears to be in no hurry. With nothing better to do, I head back over to the treadmill and get back to walking. By 6:50, I’m beginning to worry that the guy has died on the crapper when he finally makes his exit. Already agitated and behind, I run for the john.

Well, guess what happens? It only gets worse. Not only did this donkey take 30 minutes in the only male locker room in the place, but he also left the shower in a mess. All I can say is, thank goodness for disinfectant. I may not have made it out alive without it!

What is the moral of the story? When you are at the gym, have a little respect for the other members! It wasn’t like the guy had that much to do to get ready. Heck, he was bald, so washing his hair is out of the equation! Take your time at home, hurry up at the gym.

I got into work later than usual and now I’m off kilter! I’ll survive, but I’m sure aggravated at the moment!

This little ditty hit my mailbox twice this morning, so I figured it was worth sharing. My Mom and Tammy will have to fight for credit…

A few minutes before the church services started, the congregation was sitting in their pews and talking. Suddenly, Satan appeared at the front of the church. Everyone started screaming and running for the front
entrance, trampling each other in a frantic effort to get away from the evil incarnate. Soon the church was empty except for one elderly gentleman who sat calmly in his pew without moving, seemingly oblivious to the fact that God’s ultimate enemy was in his presence.

So Satan walked up to the man and said, “Do you know who I am?”

The man replied, “Yep, sure do.”

“Aren’t you afraid of me?” Satan asked.

“Nope, sure ain’t.” said the man.

“Don’t you realize I can kill you with one word?” asked Satan.

“Don’t doubt it for a minute,” returned the old man, in an even tone.

“Did you know that I can cause you profound, horrifying AGONY for all eternity?” persisted Satan.

“Yep,” was the calm reply.

“And you are still not afraid?” asked Satan.

“Nope,” said the old man.

More than a little perturbed, Satan asked, “Why aren’t you afraid of me?”

The man calmly replied, “Been married to your sister for 48 years.”

So, I spent a few nights over the past week watching Rocky Balboa. After Rocky’s 2-5, I prepared myself for the worst. However, I found something wholly new and even a bit old in the new Rocky. Honestly, I think that you could watch the first movie and this movie and have perfect bookends. Both movies are quality, real and much more down to earth. Either way, I found a great deal of inspiration in the film. Without being a spoiler, all I can say is that I found a good deal of not only hope in Rocky Balboa, but also a reminder that we can do anything we set our minds to.

My Little Read Haired Girl has been telling me the same thing for a long time. Over the past few years, she has reminded me often on the ‘driven’ guy she met in college and fell in love with. I’m glad she has done so, because for quite some time now, I have had little to no drive. And I mean this in my work, health and personal life. Getting my Master’s degree was a small spark to my overall drive. Since then, I’ve continued to remind myself that I can do anything if I set my mind to it and, most importantly, allow God in on the process.

I now know that now is the time for my health and I know I can do it. Thanks to my Little Read Haired Girl and a good personal trainer, I’m gonna get there.

Well, if my Lil Bit 2.0 could talk, that is exactly what she would say. She has been perfectly happy breast feeding for the last eight weeks and is content to stay there. However, there is one slight problem, the Little Red Haired Girl has to go back to work. On top of it, my manly wells are dry. Yes… I said ‘manly wells’, deal with it.

Either way… Mommy has got to go back to work and therefore, the infamous bottle has been retrieved from the cabinet. And guess what… Lil Bit 2.0 HATES IT… WITH A VENGEANCE! It doesn’t matter that there is breast milk in it and that without it she would starve… she HATES IT! So what does this mean? Well… its gonna be a long week…
